Originally from Barons Alberta, Raphaëlle Erdman began her concentrated violin ​studies in Lethbridge with Lise Boutin and Dr Peter Visentin. She completed a ​Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with Dr Guillaume Tardif at the University ​of Alberta and has completed her After-Education Degree at the University of Alberta ​Faculté Saint-Jean to pursue her love of teaching music.

Raphaëlle has participated in many summer string programs, such as the High Sierra ​Academy of Music with violinists Corey Cerovsek and Guillaume Sutre, Ponte Cultura ​violin chamber music with violinist Miranda Playfair from the academy St. Martin in ​The Fields, England, Kathryn Corvino’s String program in Calgary, as well as the ​Scotia Festival of Music in Halifax with Phillip Glass. Raphaelle has also had the ​wonderful opportunities in performing Masterclasses with violinists Elissa Lee, Robert ​Uchida, Dr. Kyung Sun Lee, Moshe Hammer, and violist Rivka Golani.

Raphaëlle has previously been a member of the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra under ​the direction of Glen Klassen, as well as the University of Alberta Symphony ​Orchestra with conductor Petar Dundjerski. She currently performs in the River City ​Chamber Orchestra as section leader and alternating Concertmaster under Lidia ​Khaner, as well as in other chamber groups as a freelance musician, performing ​various genres of music. Raphaëlle has also had the opportunity of working as a ​research assistant to Dr. Fabio Morabito from the University of Alberta in helping ​with a research project on French violinist and composer Pierre Baillot (1771-1842).

Raphaëlle has discovered the joy of teaching in her undergraduate degree in violin ​performance and is passionate about sharing her love of music with others . She is a ​newly registered member of the Alberta Music Teacher's Association, as well as a ​registered Violin Suzuki instructor. Raphaelle is also experienced in the Royal ​Conservatory of Music (RCM) violin curriculum, having over six years of experience ​teaching. Raphaëlle teaches at the Youth Orchestra of Northern Alberta string ​program (YONA-Sistema) as a substitute sessional instructor, as well as on occasion ​with the Suzuki Talent Education Society.

Elle se ​produit actuellement dans l'Orchestre de chambre River City Chamber ​Orchestra en tant que maitre de concert ou chef de pupitre, sous la ​direction de Lidia Khaner, ainsi que dans divers groupes de musique de ​chambre en tant que musicienne indépendante, interprétant divers genres ​musicaux. Raphaëlle a également eu l'opportunité de travailler en tant ​qu'assistante de recherche auprès du Dr Fabio Morabito de l'Université de ​l'Alberta pour un projet de recherche sur le violoniste et compositeur ​français Pierre Baillot (1771-1842).

Raphaëlle a découvert la joie de l'enseignement lors de son baccalauréat au ​violion et est passionnée de partager son amour de la musique avec les ​autres. Elle est membre de l'Association des enseignants de musique de ​l'Alberta et est diplomée en tant qu' instructrice de violon Suzuki. ​Raphaelle a suivi les cours et examens du programme de violon du ​Conservatoire Royal de Musique (RCM). Elle enseigne des cours depuis ​six ans. Elle enseigne, de temps a autres dans les cours de cordes de ​l'Orchestre des jeunes du nord de l'Alberta (YONA-Sistema), ainsi qu'avec ​le Suzuki Talent Education Society.

I strive to create a ​supportive and engaging learning environment where students of all ages and skill levels can thrive. ​My teaching approach is tailored to each student's unique needs and goals, ensuring that lessons are ​both enjoyable and educational. I focus on building strong foundational skills, fostering musical ​expression, and encouraging a lifelong love for music.
